The participants will traverse 7,500 km starting from the city of Kuching in North West Borneo and ending at the finish line in Melbourne, Australia. Each of the four pairs must survive on a tight budget of just £26 per person a day, navigating through prehistoric jungles and five check points across three countries and two continents without the use of phones, credit cards, or flights.
This grueling adventure matters to viewers as it strips away the VIP lifestyle, forcing household names to rely entirely on local transport, maps, and the kindness of strangers. The experience is designed to test emotional resilience and transform relationships as contestants trade home comforts for an environment where they must manage their own resourcefulness to progress in the race.
According to the BBC, the official line-up features Brit award-winning singer Ella Eyre and her childhood friend Nana, sports broadcaster Jeff Stelling and his son Matt, influencer Princess Andre with her musician brother Junior Andre, and singer Sam Ryder with his tour manager Kaz. The series, produced by Studio Lambert, is set to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
The broadcaster teased the line-up with images of the contestants being photobombed by wild animals. The show is expected to start later this year, with no VIP treatment for any of the participants during their journey.
