As the woman was led off the aircraft by police and flight attendants, passengers applauded in the background. She raised her hands with peace signs while being escorted down the aisle by at least four security personnel.
The disruption cost the flight significantly: flight TR905 was scheduled to depart Macau for Singapore at 6.45pm local time but did not leave until 8.46pm. According to Scoot, the delay stemmed from the time required to remove the disruptive passenger, wait for local authorities to arrive, and offload her checked baggage. All 173 other passengers remained on the aircraft and were served refreshments during the two-hour wait.
Scoot handed the passenger over to local authorities at Macau International Airport but did not disclose what disturbance she had caused on board. The Straits Times reported the incident occurred on October 1, while other sources place the flight on September 27 and the video posting on September 28. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, Scoot said, unable to provide further details. The airline apologised and stated that "the safety and well-being of our customers and crew are our top priority and we will take appropriate measures against any passenger who poses a risk to them."
