Keletso Makgalwa reveals why he snubbed late Kaizer Chiefs contract offer

Keletso Makgalwa turned his back on a lucrative offer from the Soweto giants to pursue a fresh start outside of South Africa. The 29-year-old winger, who recorded nine assists in 34 matches last season, opted for a move to Simba SC in Tanzania rather than joining the Premier Soccer League side. Makgalwa confirmed that while the interest from Naturena was genuine, the timing of the proposal did not align with his career plans at the time. Speaking to FARPost, the attacker clarified that he did not reject the offer outright but rather chose to prioritize an international experience over a local switch. He explained that by the time Kaizer Chiefs made their formal approach, discussions were already advanced with Simba SC. The player held direct conversations with his agent, Ntobatsi Masegela, and Kaizer Motaung Jr. during the finalization of the squad roster. Despite the missed opportunity, Makgalwa maintains that representing the Glamour Boys remains a long-term goal. He noted that playing for the club has been an objective since his youth in Mokopane and expressed a clear willingness to accept a potential move if the opportunity arises again in the future. Makgalwa is currently reflecting on his career path while attending a mid-season training camp in Polokwane, fully committed to his new chapter abroad after his stint with Sekhukhune United.
