Tickets for the 2026/27 MTN8 final become available online at 10:00 this Friday, as Orlando Pirates prepare to face Mamelodi Sundowns. Following eight qualifying matches, these two clubs now meet at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 10 October, for a match kicking off at 18:00.
Securing seats early is critical due to high anticipated demand for the season's biggest fixture. Supporters must navigate to the OpenTickets platform to complete their purchases, as no physical sales or stadium-based ticket booths will be available. Each individual is restricted to a maximum of four tickets, which will be delivered exclusively via email with a link for digital access. Printouts are not accepted for entry.
This decision to host the final at Moses Mabhida Stadium has prompted debate regarding the selection process, as some observers argued for a Gauteng venue to provide closer access for fans. While eThekwini Municipality Mayor Cyril Xaba highlighted the stadium’s established track record and the economic benefits for the city, the Premier Soccer League has faced calls to be more transparent about the criteria used to choose neutral grounds for cup finals.
The upcoming clash marks the first time these rivals have contested the MTN8 final since the 2023 edition of the tournament. Local authorities are currently coordinating with the league, stadium management, and emergency services to prepare for the expected influx of supporters at the venue.
