Richard E Grant effectively ended his own game by admitting his identity to other celebrities in a bar before the round table. His strategy led to a landslide banishment, with 16 out of 20 players casting votes against him. The actor famously described his own performance as catastrophically idiotic, noting he checkmated himself in a move that host Claudia Winkleman confirmed has never happened before on the series. The result brought jubilation to the remaining faithful, with Ross Kemp celebrating the departure with a loud, vein-popping roar.
This early elimination changes the landscape of the competition significantly, as the faithful successfully unmasked a traitor on their first attempt. While the victory was cause for celebration, the game remains volatile. Other players, such as Julie Hesmondhalgh, were already analyzing minute details, including a wink from Myha'la, to identify potential traitors among the group. This level of scrutiny shows that despite successfully catching Grant, the players are now on high alert for further deception.
Following the banishment, the remaining traitors, Maya Jama and James Acaster, retreated to the turret to determine their next move. With the game now moving into a new phase, they faced the critical choice of either murdering one of the previously shortlisted players, Jerry Hall or Hannah Fry, or seducing a new contestant to join their ranks to replace the outgoing traitor. The outcome of these discussions is expected to shape the direction of the upcoming episodes as the remaining participants continue their search for the culprits hidden among them.
