Barcelona routs Getafe 3-0 to surge five points clear in La Liga

Jules Koundé sealed the win with a clinical left-footed strike from close range, capping a dominant performance that saw Barcelona maintain their relentless pace at the top of the table. The result marks another significant step for Hansi Flick’s squad, who entered the contest riding the momentum of a historic start to their campaign, having scored 31 goals in their opening fixtures. This victory pushes the Catalan side five points ahead of their closest challengers, Atlético Madrid and Real Betis, establishing a commanding position early in the season. For Getafe, the result highlights ongoing struggles on the road, where the team has failed to score in their recent away matches. The visitors arrived at Spotify Camp Nou sitting eleventh in the standings, but they were unable to overcome a formidable opponent that has now extended their unbeaten home streak against Getafe to 21 league games. While Barcelona continues to thrive, the team faced this challenge without key forward Raphinha, who missed the action due to a thigh injury sustained during international duty. Additionally, Frenkie de Jong remained sidelined as he continues his recovery. The team now turns its attention toward upcoming fixtures, with a Champions League encounter against Galatasaray scheduled for the following Tuesday.
